The easiest way to block websites Windows is to download the related software and add websites to its database. All the added websites will be blocked within a matter of a few minutes. It is also not possible to delete such software without entering the password hence they remain safe. A manual way is to visit C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\hosts. By right clicking on the host file and getting to its properties, its ‘Read Only' attribute needs to be unchecked. Open the ‘host' file with notepad and add 127.0.0.1 as a prefix for the website to be blocked. The format 127.0.0.1(website) will block this address from opening up on that computer. Whatever the websites need to be blocked can be added here and the task is complete.

The latter mentioned way is not only time consuming but can also be reversed by anyone who finds out the way. For the internet software however, the password remains with the authority and it rare to be leaked. Hence there is no chance of settings changing again or undesirable websites being visited.
